arc

Part of the circumference of a circle between two points.

arc length

The distance along an arc; for radius

r

and central angle

l=r\theta

when

is in radians, or

l=\frac{\theta}{360}\times2\pi r

when

is in degrees.

radian

A unit for measuring angles defined so that $\theta$ radians equals the arc length divided by the radius, $\theta=\frac{l}{r}$ , giving the key conversion $\pi$ radians $=180^\circ$ .

radius

The distance from the centre of a circle to any point on the circle.

sector

The region enclosed by two radii and the arc between them.
