Additional transformations

In this section, the graph transformations from earlier topics are extended to include functions such as y=f(x)y=|f(x)|, y=f(x)y=f(|x|), y=1/f(x)y=1/f(x), y=f(ax+b)y=f(ax+b) and y=[f(x)]2y=[f(x)]^2.

These transformations are especially useful because they let us sketch new graphs quickly from a known graph of y=f(x)y=f(x).
